Night time fishing is great but if you have one small problem it is magnified 6 times at night LOL.Any way while running cranks at night those hooks will snag any thing and every thing on or around the boat and will always get snagged in the net.I have just the regular nylon webbing style net is the rubber type better for snag free nights or are all nets about the same.
We use the Beckman snag free net. Works pretty good but not 100 % tangle free. LOL. Don't think there is one on the market that is. You could always use the Van Dam method to get the fish in the boat. We have been known to do that on very fast paced nite bites.

I use a tangle free cummings ( still grabs hooks ) i tryed to pull a fish in once over the stern until it flopped around and the hook got into my shoe lace and i had to cut my shoe off! never again some of the vallys are pissed when they come in!
Ya I believe they are worth it. I think we can probably get you one for cheaper than a hundred bucks tho. If you are interested in buying one I'll ask DJ where he got his cause I know he didn't pay 100 for his.

I bought just the bag a Erie Outfitters for about $40 and installed it on the frame that I already had. As BK said not hook proof but close. Turns a 15 min. night time nightmare into a few mins. of mild frustration
I also have 2 beckmans I carry on my boat, one is the entire beckman set up I got from craigs I think it was 70 with a 10 ft handle and the other one I just got the bag (forgot price frank got it) and installed it on another net.
Beckman's are pretty much as close to hook proof as they come. You don't want one of those rubber nets, very heavy and fish can flop out because they aren't deep enough.
