Guys I know for a short time (what two hours) Dave had the purple barenaked reef runners. I was not one of the lucky ones to have scored one of these baits. Does anyone know where I could get one or a few in this color?

Try Erie Outfitters. If Craig doesn't have it, he can get it for you. Or try George's. Both carry X-Tackle products as does Cranberry Creek Marina.

Just beware that if they aren't from the old batch that the insert is different in the new barenakeds(cheaper and not as reflective). Not that they won't catch fish but just making you aware of it before you go and buy a bunch of em.

I'm with you, EZ. I've trolled the snot out of the 'Bare Naked' models and never caught a thing on them. As soon as I'd take it off, and throw out the trusted Mooneye Minnow, I'd start catching fish again.

They sure do catch fishermen, though.

I just started trolling last year and caught at least 60% of all my eyes on reef runners with the bare naked being the best producer.

Caught fish on all of them. The Bare Naked, Pearl Ghost and Purple Barely Naked. The only thing I did was add a red hook to the front of the Bare Naked. Took the red hooks off the back of the Pearl Ghost and the Purple Barely Naked and put a Black Chrome hook in it's place. I believe in the red hooks but think there can be to much also.

I found the BareNakeds to be either HOT or not. Their best success for me has been in clean water.
